NOS Energy Drink, the fastest growing energy drink in the category, targets the Energy Shot market and will launch NOS PowerShot in May of this year.

The Energy Shot category is one of the fastest growing beverage categories, estimated at greater than $125 million in sales for 2007. “NOS PowerShot addresses a different consumption occasion than standard energy drinks, when consumers don’t have the time or the patience to consume a 16oz can or 22oz bottle…NOS PowerShot packs a big punch of caffeine, vitamins and amino acids, for those who want it quickly,” comments Mike Fine, Energy Brand Director at FUZE Beverages.

NOS PowerShot contains the NOS Maximum Boost Formula, which concentrates into a 2 oz shot, the same level of Caffeine, Taurine, L-Carnitine, Inositol and Panax Ginseng found in an 8oz serving of regular NOS Energy Drink. Plus, NOS PowerShot contains a special formulation of elevated levels of Niacin, Vitamin B6 and B12 than those found in regular NOS Energy Drink.

Since 2005, NOS Energy Drink has been a leader in the energy drink industry. Riding the success of its 22oz re-sealable bottle, which bears resemblance to the actual Nitrous Oxide canister used in automotive performance, the brand grew five times the national energy drink average in 2007. The 22oz packaging won an NACD packaging innovation award, capping off an exciting year. With PowerShot, NOS brings its innovation to the Energy Shot category. “NOS has always been about Human Horsepower and getting that extra step on the competition. PowerShot puts people even farther ahead of the competition,” said Fine.

NOS PowerShot packs all the horsepower of regular NOS and more into a 2oz bottle, providing consumers hours of horsepower with the same Mango-Passionfruit taste. NOS PowerShot will be available at many national retailers including 7-Eleven and Wal-Mart, with a suggested retail price of $2.99.

Hey, my compliments to the name! What a great name for an energy drink, NOS! I am surprised no one thought of this sooner after the popularity of the fast and the furious. Well, it’s an excellent way to leverage the popularity and idea behind NOS systems in cars.

Cheers,

Jarret
