This weekend, for the first time ever, NOPI came to Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. For NOPI’s inaugural event in New Jersey, NOPI sure pulled off an outstanding event. The 2008 season hasn’t been the best for NOPI when it comes to weather and this weekend was no different. Saturday the weather was cold and misty for most of the day which meant that the action would have to wait and hope for a more forgiving Sunday. The forecast looked much better for Sunday though and by 11AM the skies had cleared up and the event was filling with spectators.
There were over 21,000 people in attendance to check out variety of events that NOPI Motorsports has to offer. Englishtown is known for great racing action and this weekend didn’t disappoint. Racers from all over the country and Puerto Rico came out in full force to see who would take home top honors this weekend. NOPI had 201 drag racers show up to compete this weekend and also had 25 drifters show up to contend for the top prize in NOPI Drift. Car show competitors also arrived from all over to see who had the hottest car. There were cars on display for every type of motorsport fan, from old school Honda’s to supercharged Hummer’s. In total there were 550 entrants that registered to show their rides in the car show.
NOPI is all about motorsports, so of course there was incredible Drag Racing and Drifting all weekend long. Here are the Drag and Drift results from this weekend.
