Team NOS Member Kyle Busch Dominates in Darlington

15 05 2008

darlingtonDarlington experienced its first NOS Bath in victory lane when NASCAR’s hottest driver turned up the heat on Saturday May 10, as he brought the crowd to his feet with another victory! The newly-renovated and historic “Lady in Black” left a lasting impression on the 43-car field in tonight’s Dodge Challenger 500, as she always does. But it was the young superstar, Kyle Busch, who left the most vivid impression on the NASCAR world with another dominant performance. After leading seven times for a total of 169 laps, Busch drove his No. 18 M&M’s®/Indiana Jones Toyota Camry to victory lane for the third time this season. With the win, he boosted his points lead to 79 markers over second-place Jeff Burton.

“(This win) means a lot.” Busch remarked afterwards. “This racetrack, don’t get me wrong, I don’t know all the history and heritage of it, but I know there’s a lot to it. But we’re running around here so fast now it’s confusing.” continued Busch. “To me it’s just neat to be able to go around this place and remember all that and yet still be able to become the winner tonight. It means a lot, especially because it’s Mother’s Day weekend now, and of course my mom was here to be able to help celebrate with us. Happy Mother’s Day to her. And having Indiana Jones and M&M’s on board this weekend with us, that was pretty cool, too. Glad we could get them a win for the special promotion they had going. Once I pulled into victory lane, it never gets old spraying down my crew and receiving a NOS Bath in victory lane!” Read the rest of this entry »

NOPI Englishtown May 3-4th 2008

7 05 2008

This weekend, for the first time ever, NOPI came to Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. For NOPI’s inaugural event in New Jersey, NOPI sure pulled off an outstanding event. The 2008 season hasn’t been the best for NOPI when it comes to weather and this weekend was no different. Saturday the weather was cold and misty for most of the day which meant that the action would have to wait and hope for a more forgiving Sunday. The forecast looked much better for Sunday though and by 11AM the skies had cleared up and the event was filling with spectators.

There were over 21,000 people in attendance to check out variety of events that NOPI Motorsports has to offer. Englishtown is known for great racing action and this weekend didn’t disappoint. Racers from all over the country and Puerto Rico came out in full force to see who would take home top honors this weekend. NOPI had 201 drag racers show up to compete this weekend and also had 25 drifters show up to contend for the top prize in NOPI Drift. Car show competitors also arrived from all over to see who had the hottest car. There were cars on display for every type of motorsport fan, from old school Honda’s to supercharged Hummer’s. In total there were 550 entrants that registered to show their rides in the car show.

NOPI is all about motorsports, so of course there was incredible Drag Racing and Drifting all weekend long. Here are the Drag and Drift results from this weekend.

Talladega Gets A Taste Of NOS In NASCAR Victory Lane

1 05 2008

Talladega Gets A Taste Of NOS In NASCAR Victory LaneTeam NOS Member Kyle Busch notched another win on his racing resume on Sunday April 27th, at Talladega, AL. After battling through adversity in the middle part of the race, Busch drove his No. 18 M&M’S Toyota Camry to the front of the pack at the end of the race and pulled out his first superspeedway victory in the Aaron’s 499 race.

Kyle began the day from the fifth spot on the inside of row three. As soon as the green flag dropped, he was able to jump up a few spots and link up with his teammate, Tony Stewart. The two Joe Gibbs Racing drivers raced together for several laps at the front of the pack before being joined by their third teammate, Denny Hamlin. From there, Busch’s day lost some of its luster, as he ran into a few problems

First, he got hung out on the outside of a three-wide pack coming onto pit road during a green-flag stop, which forced him to miss his pit stall and come back down pit road again the following lap. From there, he lost the lead draft and eventually fell off the lead lap. But through patience and perseverance, he earned his way back onto the lead lap, after the halfway point in the race, and got back in contention. Read the rest of this entry »
